Invest Cyprus participates in International Casino Conference in London

The Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus) took part in the International Casino Conference that was held as part of the ICE LONDON 2020, between 3-6 February in London as part of its purpose to attract strategic investments in the tourism sector and implement the goals of the National Tourism Strategy. According to Invest Cyprus’ announcement, the conference and expo are considered globally as the top of their kind as it comes to the presentation of new technologies and discussions on the challenges and future opportunities that open up, while they are a point of reference for entrepreneurship and further development. This year’s event managed to attract more than 35,000 participants and hundreds of exhibitors.
Invest Cyprus’ General Manager, George Kambanellas led the Agency’s delegation and participated in panel discussion entitled “The future of integrated casino-resorts in Europe”. The Chief Operating Officer of Melco, Andy Choy and the Chief Operating Officer of Mohegan Sun, Michael Siberling also participated in this panel. In the framework of this discussion, it was highlighted that Cyprus, was the first European country to adopt the integrated casino-resort as part of the country’s effort that began about 5 years ago to develop large tourism infrastructure projects, to enhance and differentiate our tourist product with a view to increase the per capita spending by attracting visitors of a higher income level.
