Hyatt has revealed plans to develop its first hotel in Cyprus. The Grand Hyatt Limassol is slated to open in 2025 as part of the larger Zaria Resort. Global firm SB Architects is joining forces with Rockwell Group and EDSA to craft the 300-key luxury property, which aims to revive the lore and romance of the Eastern Mediterranean island. “Drawing on our client’s vision, we’ve designed a contemporary resort that celebrates Cypriot lifestyle and culture in balance with the island’s natural beauty,” says Mark Sopp, SB Architects senior vice president and principal.
Spread across 2.5 acres, the Mediterranean oasis will seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor environments in homage to the island locale. A grand foyer will organically link surrounding courtyard gardens, while numerous outdoor terraces and flexible event spaces, including a rooftop bar, will frame views of the lush landscape design. Native plantings will infuse a sense of place and accent the property’s clean, modern architectural lines. Informed by the natural grottos created along the coastline, the indoor pool will promote wellness alongside other amenities like the fitness center. A beach club, retail, and F&B options will also be housed onsite.
